Il nome completo dell’attrice è Janel Meilani Parrish ed è nata il 30 ottobre 1988 ad Oahu (Hawaii). Inizia presto a muovere i primi passi nel mondo dello spettacolo, più precisamente la sua carrierà di attrice si avviò dopo aver ottenuto, da bambina, il ruolo di Cosette nel musical Les Misérables. Parte che ha ricoperto anche nella trasposizione a Broadway! Nel 2007 firma un contratto con la Geffen Records per la produzione del suo primo album, il suo primo singolo s’intitola “Rainy Day” ed è stato scritto proprio da lei.
